Lyonheart Cars is a new British sports car maker. A passionate company whose aim is to bring back the glorious days of the British Automotive Industry. Based in Coventry, Lyonheart Cars has started to make rare and exclusive cars. All hand-built and in a limited series.
Lyonheart cars says : this is not just a statement, we want to bring back the concept of the true Made in England sports car.” Their first sports car is here: The Lyonheart K. A sports car with sleek and refined lines in the style of the Jaguar E-type. The Lyonheart K is built on an aluminium chassis which is covered with carbon fibre panels. The weight is just 1,600 kilo. The Lyonheart K is powered by a 5000cc Supercharged V8 with 32 valves and Variable Inlet Camshaft Phasing. The heart of this king of the asphalt jungle pumps out 550 hp and a torque of 680 Nm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox made by ZF. The top speed is limited at 300 km/hr. Acceleration from 0-100 km/hr is done in just 3,9 seconds. The sizes of the Lyonheart K are, 4749mm long, 1893 width and a height of 1289mm. The wheelbase is 2752mm.
The classic interior of the Lyonheart is not overdone. The developers used genuine materials. Leather seats, a thin steering wheel and classic wooden dashboard. Switches and buttons are made of chrome, or polished brushed aluminium. The modern, high-tech elements are there but not overly visible. In a time were we see mostly small cars and downsized engines, it is refreshing to see a real sports car back on the road. It’s looks and lines resonate the good old British sports car vibes.
Lyonheart has opened the order books for the first 50 cars. Each “K” will cost 495.000 exclusive of local taxes.
